Mayor Jackson Announces Thanksgiving Holiday Meal Site Locations to Aid Area Needy

CLEVELAND Mayor Frank G. Jackson, Honorary Co-Chair of Greater Cleveland’s annual “Harvest for Hunger” Food Drive, has asked the City’s Food Drive Chairman to work with the local hunger agencies to prepare a list of meal site locations for Cleveland’s print, radio, and television media.  This effort will help ensure that Cleveland families who are working hard to survive the tough economic climate can receive a Thanksgiving meal.

Program hours and locations may change.  For complete information, call United Way’s 211-First Call for Help at 216/436-2000.  This line is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including Christmas.

“Where is Gina?”

Premier

A Documentary about Gina DeJesus,

Missing for 5 years, and other missing persons

Primera Iglesia Bautisa Hispana de Cleveland

 6800 Denison Avenue Cleveland, Ohio

            Saturday, October 24, 2009,

7-9 pm

Please join us at the premiere of this mind blowing and beautiful documentary about Gina DeJesus, who has been missing since April 2, 2004.  Come and show your support for the families of many other  missing children, and the director, producers and actors who have volunteered their time, resources and talents to create this extremely meaningful documentary about our vanished loved ones.

This film was made with love and from the heart and soul of  Ruben Reyes, director, Tim White, Phillip Deal, and IVM Production, in association with Seaman Garson LLC, they met with the family of Gina DeJesus and asked, “Where is Gina?”  “Where are our children?” Ruben, Philip, Tim, Felix, Nancy, and many more to dramatize how quick a child can disappear, the need for a quick response, the need for unity in the community and law enforcement, and the need for heightened attention by the public to what is happening in and around their neighborhoods. They wanted to create a movie to raise awareness about all of the children who have disappeared into thin air.  Together, with other organizations such as Black on Black Crime, Inc., Survivors/Victims of Tragedy, Inc. and KNOWLEDGE, and the help of other local sponsors, they did make a documentary asking these questions.  We need to raise awareness about the dangers facing our missing children and our children when they are coming home from school, walking to the corner store, visiting friends, etc.  Where is Gina?  Where is Amanda?  Where is Christine?  What happened to them and the others?

We need to find our missing children and adult family members!

There will be time for questions and statements of concern after the premiere.

Please come out and join us!!!
